Exploring the City of Nature

Although often depicted through images of it’s city centre Birmingham is a city rich in parks, woodlands, rivers, and canals, offering beautiful and diverse spaces for nature and people to thrive. From the peaceful waterways of the Canal Network to the vibrant wildlife of Sutton Park, our green and blue spaces provide a sanctuary for relaxation, recreation, and biodiversity.

In the webcast that was available to join via Teams on January 27th 2025 we celebrated just a few of the city’s natural treasures, highlighting the incredible places, projects, and people that help make Birmingham a true City of Nature. Whether you’re looking for a quiet escape, an outdoor adventure, or ways to get involved in local conservation efforts, there’s something for everyone to explore and enjoy. Join us in celebrating and protecting Birmingham’s natural beauty!
